These 3 ingredient Chocolate Truffles (plus roll-ins) are a huge hit anywhere I take them! They taste amazing and are a fun group activity too!
These Chocolate Truffles have been on my “to make” list for Christmas for decades. Even when the list is cut down, they are still on there!
I made candy tins for many years and these were the star, right in the center of the tin! They look like a fancy addition but are actually very easy!
Last year, our grown family met at a central spot for Christmas at an Airbnb and I took several activities to do together. Instead of making these at home ahead of time, I melted the chocolate and took it ready to roll into truffles. It was a great thing to do together. 😊
This recipe has been shared in Weekend Potluck. Head on over to these great sites for LOTS of new recipes each week!
Can these Be Made Ahead of Time
Yes, they sure can! They will wait patiently in the refrigerator or in the freezer.
Can They Be Frozen
Yes! this freezes well.
Just put it in an airtight container; some plastic wrap around it inside for extra protection is great, and put it in the freezer.
I have frozen these for a few weeks ahead and they taste fresh for the holidays and when we had leftovers, I have frozen them for even a few months after.

Key Ingredients
(Full printable ingredients and instructions are just below.)

Vanilla extract
Flaked sweetened coconut, finely chopped walnuts and colored sprinkles
How to Make Chocolate Truffles

1-In microwave safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and milk until chocolate is melted.
I do 1 minute, stir, 30 seconds, stir.
2-Be careful not to overdo it in the microwave. It will burn easily. Even if the chips don’t look melted, it will usually get nice and smooth and melted with good stirring.
3-Stir in vanilla.
Chill for 2 hours or until mixture is easy to handle. Overnight is also fine. Let it sit out at room temperature if it is too hard.
4-Remove chocolate with spoons or cookie scoop.

5-Shape into 1-inch balls. Doing it between your palms also warms it some to allow the sprinkles, etc. to stick better.
6-7 Roll in coconut, walnuts or sprinkles.
8-Set on parchment paper lined baking trays to set.
Make for Christmas or for any general occasion.

Don’t forget to pin for later!
