I have recently started using my cast iron skillets regularly and I love them. They are non stick, easy to clean and are great to serve in because they retain the heat well.
The Creamed Mushrooms stay nice and hot in the cast iron skillet.
Ingredients for Creamed Mushrooms:
(Full printable ingredients and instructions are just below.)
butter or fat of your choice
sliced white mushrooms
onion, diced
heavy whipping cream
cream cheese
Instructions for Creamed Mushrooms:
Melt butter in skillet.
Add mushrooms, onion, garlic and salt and pepper.
Cover and cook until the mushrooms and onions are as soft as you want, 7-10 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
When the mushrooms are cooked, there should be a little bit of liquid in the bottom of the pan. If there isn’t, add 1/8 cup of water.
(There wasn’t any liquid so I added the 1/8 cup of water)
Add the cream and cream cheese and stir until melted and blended.
