Creamed Mushrooms; Just 6 ingredients, 1 skillet and 15 minutes to cook to make this easy side dish; it is especially good with beef!

We love mushrooms and we love anything creamed so we love Creamed Mushrooms!

 

This takes about 15 minutes to cook up; quick and easy and the perfect complement to almost any meat.  

It really dresses up what could be a plain meal!  

This is delicious especially with beef but also with chicken.

I have recently started using my cast iron skillets regularly and I love them. They are non stick, easy to clean and are great to serve in because they retain the heat well.

The Creamed Mushrooms stay nice and hot in the cast iron skillet.

Ingredients for Creamed Mushrooms:

butter or fat of your choice

sliced white mushrooms

onion, diced

minced garlic (affiliate link)

salt (affiliate link) and pepper (affiliate link) to taste

heavy whipping cream

cream cheese

Instructions for Creamed Mushrooms:

Melt butter in skillet.

Add mushrooms, onion, garlic and salt (affiliate link) and pepper (affiliate link).

Cover and cook until the mushrooms and onions are as soft as you want, 7-10 minutes, stirring every few minutes.

When the mushrooms are cooked, there should be a little bit of liquid in the bottom of the pan. If there isn’t, add 1/8 cup of water.

Add the cream and cream cheese and stir until melted and blended.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons butter or fat of your choice
  • 8 ounce sliced white mushrooms
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in skillet
  2. Add mushrooms, onion, garlic and salt and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook until the mushrooms and onions are as soft as you want, 7-10 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
