Here is a fun President’s Day Word Scramble in two levels so almost everyone can play. Word scrambles are an entertaining way to practice putting letters together into words and playing a game at the same time. When having a party for a holiday, it is easy to incorporate word games like word scrambles. You can kind of sneak in some school work without it seeming like it!
There are so many presidents that I made two different pages. I didn’t want to make a 2 ½ page puzzle. That seemed like too much and not fun to have so many at one time. I took off a few of the lesser known presidents to fit the rest on 2 puzzles. This way there are two completely different puzzles for the older kids/adults and still one for the younger kids of course.
Tip for younger kids:
An idea for younger kids is to give them a word bank on note cards, either all on one card or one on individual cards, and allow them to match them with the words on the page. That is also a good idea if you have an older child wanting to do the harder version but it is a little challenging for them.

Ideas to print and preserve your printables:
Printing, writing on them and disposing is the quickest and easiest use of a printable of course, but there are other options if you choose.
Laminate them:
If you would like to print them once and use them year after year, you can laminate them and use dry erase markers to write on them. Then just file them away until next year. This is a great idea if you use them for a classroom year after year or for multiple classes hour after hour.

A quicker and easier solution to a disposable printable if you don’t wish to laminate is printing on white card stock and slipping them into dry erase pockets. Children enjoy using colored markers and erasing when they are finished. They can do the same one over and over if they wish and even improve their speed. The pockets can be used for different cards and the cards filed away until ready to use again.

Copyright:
These printables are free for personal, home and classroom use. This means you are welcome to print as many copies as you need for use with your own kids, personal classroom, etc. Please do not mass produce these. Please refer fellow teachers or friends to this website to print off their own copies for their use.
How to Print just the puzzle:
I have included a Terms of Service page on page 2 of the printable so you can skim through for the particulars of the printables, including giving credit to the clip artist used. They are an important part of making fun pages!
It is understood that you probably do not want to print that part out so I put it on the last page and want to give you directions on how to avoid that if you don’t know how. When you hit the print button, you should get a pop-up page with options. One will be whether you wish to print all of the pages or just some of them. You can type all or 1 or 1,3 or 3-5 or whatever pages you would like to print.
Another option there is printing front and back if it is more than 1 page. Sometimes that is a great option and other times not.
Two Free Printable New Year Word Scrambles
Which word scramble do I want for my students?
I did not put age or grade levels on these. You decide which is best for your student.
The easier one has the first letter of the word capitalized so it is very easy to spot and begin the word. It also has much shorter words.
You want it to be challenging for them but not too hard. It should be fun!
