Free Printable Journal Prompts to get your kids writing about their experience in Quarantine. This is an experience they will never forget but this is a great way to record the details.
I am over 50 years old and have never lived through a quarantine. Our children though, are living through history. This is something we don’t want them to forget. Here is a simple assignment for them to do a Quarantine Journal Prompts for Kids so they will always remember their thoughts and feelings during this time.
Journals are a perfect way to practice writing; both the physical action of forming words on paper and the mental exercise of using grammar and punctuation. This is a simple, finish the sentence journal but still fits the purpose. Journals are also precious memories of your child’s thoughts and memories growing up.
Even if your child is not great at writing yet, ask them the questions and do the writing for them. You will be happy to have the answers to these questions through their eyes 10, 20 or more years from now. We have done things like this in the past and they are priceless. No matter how young, always have them do their own signature at the bottom. 😊
All children may not answer every question and that is fine. Some questions just may not pertain to every child or family.

The writing utensil:
I suggest using a permanent ink for journal writing. This will make them last longer. You don’t want to pull out a precious writing 10 years later and realize you can barely make out what the child wrote in pencil—trust me, this happened to us. I painstakingly went over a whole journal my oldest wrote in pencil with a pen so it would be preserved better. I did not want to lose his first and second grade thoughts and hard work!
Also, when you give a young child a pen to write with, they feel so grown up and enjoy writing more! Mine did, anyway. Yes, there will be some scribble-outs, but that is fine.
