I made two lists so everyone can play. Even little ones can follow along with a picture list! They will have fun finding things too!

Decide ahead of time whether you will be simply crossing things off, taking pictures as you go or even gathering some of the items. There are some items you won’t want to be bringing home but many you could.

You could also make it a “Take a Picture” Scavenger Hunt. Those are great fun too! Just take a picture of each item on the list.

The Rules for the Spring Nature Scavenger Hunt:

You will probably not want to use the same item for any two on the list but if you need or want to that is okay. It will totally depend on how your hunt is going. It is totally up to you!

Whatever you want to do is fine! This is your game to do however works for your hunt! The ages of the children and the time you want to spend on the hunt will have to do with how you make your rules.

For example; the stone smaller than your fingernail—I could count it as something that as that and also a black rock if it is black. If it is the end of the day and you are ready to go, count it as both things! 😊 If it is the beginning and you want to make it longer, make the rule that something together like that can only have one thing checked off. Your hunt—your rules! 😊

Where to go for your hunt

It is good to go somewhere with some wooded area and underbrush if possible. A manicured lawn is not going to give you most of the items on the list. A park or even small area of woods is perfect. It doesn’t have to be a large forest or anything.

Look over the list ahead of time and if you see things you know you won’t find, just cross them off or say that you need to find 15 things out of the 20. I tried to make the list with things that most places in the US in the spring would be able to find most things.
