Can I make Halloween Spider Deviled Eggs ahead of time?

The filling can be mixed up ahead of time if needed but I don’t recommend putting it into the whites too far ahead. It is best to do that step as close to serving as possible. You will definitely want to assemble the spiders at the last minute but you could do the cutting of the olives ahead of time.

How do I get my eggs to peel nicely?

When making deviled eggs, you absolutely want your eggs to peel nicely without half of the egg sticking to the shell. Some will add things to their water as they boil. Some use their instant pot. I don’t do either. My “secret” is ice water after they boil. If you would like step by step instructions with a video, see this post; How to Make Easy to Peel Hard Boiled Eggs.

Carefully slice the remaining halves of olive into 8 legs for each spider. Most halves you can get 4 legs from to complete a whole spider with one olive but sometimes the ends of the olive are just too small. That is why you may need another olive or two to make a few more legs.
