Bark has been my absolute favorite thing to make at the holidays for a long time. This Peppermint Candy Cane Bark is the perfect addition to holiday sweets!
Family and friends love bark because it is so pretty and delicious. I love to make bark because it is so easy!
You can’t beat the ease of melt, stir, spread, chill and break! That’s it!
It can be made ahead several days and kept in the refrigerator or even made ahead a couple of weeks and put in the freezer! It will wait patiently until you are ready!

Can it Be Made Ahead of Time
Yes! I have made bark ahead for years and it even freezes great! Just put it in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer. I have frozen it for a few weeks ahead and it tastes fresh for the holidays and when we had leftovers, I have frozen it for even a few months after.
How to Store Peppermint Candy Cane Bark
Keep in an airtight container or Ziploc bag in a cool place like the refrigerator.
Don’t let it get too warm or it will melt.
The Candy Canes
If you are making this off season or can’t find candy canes for some reason, starlight mints are a great substitution for the candy canes.
How to Crush the Candy Canes
The best way I have found to crush candy canes is to put them into a Ziploc bag then gently bang them with the flat side of a meat tenderizer or side of a hammer while the bag is on a cutting board. That protects your table or counter.
