The most enjoyable way to learn about something is to explore it from every angle and in every way possible. With this Tiger Unit Study, your children AND you will enjoy learning about Tigers as you watch videos, read books, do crafts and printables and even make food together. Have fun!
In the printables section there is no end to keep everyone busy; find word scrambles, word searches, I spy, how many words can you find, mazes and guess the phrase.

When is International Tiger Day?
International Tiger Day is July 29th. This Unit Study is the perfect thing to do leading up to that day. Of course, any time is a great time to learn about tigers!

Facts about Tigers
A tiger is 10 feet long (5-6 feet long and tail is 2-3 feet long).
A tiger weighs about 450 pounds but can weigh over 650 pounds.
Its teeth are about 4 inches long.
They live 8-10 years in the wild but can live up to 25 years in captivity.
They are carnivores. That means they eat meat.
They can eat 60 pounds of meat in one night.
They are mammals.
A female tiger has 3-4 cubs at a time. They will stay with her until they are about 18 months old.
They are mostly nocturnal.
Most cats do not like water but tigers do.
Their tails help them keep their balance.
Each tiger’s stripes are different like our fingerprints.
Tigers are solitary animals.
A group of tigers is called a streak or ambush.
Most tigers are orange and black but some are white and black and a few are black.
There are 5 different kinds of tigers.
The most common type of tiger is the Bengal tiger.
The Siberian tiger is the largest tiger.
Tigers are endangered. People have moved to where they live and hunt and kill them.
Tigers are found in the wild in parts of Russia, China and parts of Asia.
They live in forests, grasslands and swamps.
Tigers are the largest of the cats.
