Fall Halloween Trail Mix

Fall Halloween Trail Mix

The kids will have great fun mixing up this simple but delicious trail mix with the colors of fall! They will have even more fun eating it!

Holiday celebrations include decorations, games, music and of course food and the more fun the food is, the better! This Fall Halloween Trail Mix is definitely fun! With pretzels, M&M’s, marshmallows and peanuts (optional if you have a nut allergy; try sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds instead), it has both the sweet and salty flavors too.

One of the best things about this recipe is that the kids can totally make it by themselves! It requires no cooking. The little bit of pouring (and it is non messing pouring!), measuring and mixing is all child friendly! This is a super-fast and easy recipe to have ready last minute if needed. It doesn’t even need chilling like some recipes do. You can’t get any easier than this!

This recipe has been shared in Weekend Potluck. Head on over to these great sites for LOTS of new recipes each week!

The Nuts:

I used peanuts but if you like a different kind, go for it! This is your trail mix so use what you like or have on hand. Some in my family would have preferred more nuts in the mix so feel free to add more if you like too.

If you have a nut allergy, you can also omit the nuts if needed. They are great in there but not totally necessary. Pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds would also be a good addition if you want a healthy crunch added without nuts.

The Pretzels:

Again, the exact kind is your preference. A small shape is best, as it fits together with the other ingredients. I use the mini twists. The small pretzel sticks would also work.

The M&M’s:

I did not buy brown, yellow and orange M&M’s by themselves. I just bought a big bag and picked them out.

Other Mix-in’s:

If you like candy corn or other fall candy, they would be good in here too! Another salty idea would be cheese-its. Chex cereal or Cheerios would be good too! Experiment and let me know what else you like!
