What is a How Many Words Puzzle?
If you aren’t familiar with How Many Words puzzles, they are a fun way to get kids to think about making different words from the word or phrase at the top of the page.
Present the page as a puzzle or a game, not as a piece of homework or school work.
Have them look at the word or phrase at the top of the page and then think of other words that they can make from them.
All words must be at least 3 letters long. Unless you are dealing with very young children. Then you could certainly allow 2 letter words. That is totally up to you.
Words in the phrases already on the page aren’t allowed. For example: if the phrase is “Merry Christmas”, Merry wouldn’t be one of the words on the blanks.
Write the words on the blanks on the page.
That is it!
Tip: Allow your students to complete the How Many Words with markers, colored pencil, gel pens, or any other writing utensil the child enjoys using. That makes it the most fun!
